Forever hilarious to me that Jack from THE SHINING (novel) was Stephen King reflecting his own tormented soul and asking if it could ever be redeemed, then Kubrick got ahold of the story and was like "Wow, this Jack guy SUCKS" and depicted him as a total son of a bitch with no redeeming qualities
