AI has completely changed the game on calendar invite spam. I wake up every day to fake legal notices and meetings from hacked strangers that take up my entire calendar which I then must manually delete. Nothing has ever made me more #efficient than the beautiful future created by #AI.

Cory Booker — who is being floated as a 2028 contender, and who just the other day did not deny the possibility of wanting to become leader of the Senate Democrats — promotes the book of Brett McGurk, a chief architect of the US-backed Israeli genocide of Palestine:
Cory Booker tweet:

I’m really looking forward to reading Brink and learning from his firsthand account of the extraordinary efforts to free the hostages, and confront the extraordinary challenges of the region.

Media outlets that started out as hobbyist publications shouldn’t wave the white flag when the industries they cover are taken over by billionaire capitalists. They should mobilize their audience and fight back against it. Be like Gamers Nexus. Show people how this is about more than just movies.

The LAPD union is spending millions to defeat a half cent sales tax that would fund firefighters www.latimes.com/california/s...
The Los Angeles Police Department's officer union said Tuesday it will oppose Measure FD, the half-cent sales tax measure on the Nov. 3 ballot pushed by the city firefighters' union - setting up a bitter and expensive clash between two of the city's most powerful unions.
The Police Protective League said it plans to spend several million dollars on broadcast and digital advertising as well as mailers to oppose Measure FD, which if approved by voters would direct hundreds of millions of dollars annually to the Fire Department to build new stations, hire firefighters and upgrade

As a car design student it drove me insane that people didn't understand this and went along with whatever companies said. Touch-screens are a cost cutting measure that makes the vehicle wore in every possible aspect.

Funner fact, every early tesIa touchscreen wasn't temperature rated for an automobile environment so the screens piss liquid in the car. Also, 'dog mode' maintains the internal car temp right at doggie death point, not to save your canine's life but to prevent having to pay out warranty repairs.

Extra fun (related) fact: When Tesla developed the Model S, the screen they specced was bigger than any existing automotive grade screen. Automotive grade means the screens can survive extreme temperatures. They just bought non-automotive grade screens. So the screens in early Teslas melt.

I meant to say the Model S, which was Tesla’s first mass production vehicle. (This wasn’t an issue with the Roadster, because that was basically just a modded Lotus Elise.) But of course it’s true of the Model 3 as well.

Fun fact: Tesla went with a giant touchscreen instead of knobs for the Model 3 purely to save time and money. Knobs would have required spinning up a whole supply chain. The company spun it as a luxury feature and much of the industry followed suit. But it was always an inferior substitute.

Skydance now owns Nick, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and MTV, effectively ending US TV animation as we know it. Countless jobs will be lost, and fewer new shows will be created. An apocalyptic scenario for cartoons, yet it's maybe the 5th-worst thing about the Paramount-WB merger!

One of the biggest myths is that men rape by mistake. Like, "Oh, they need consent training." But research is very clear: Sexual violence is not a mistake. It is an intentionally made decision by people who know they don't have consent. They just don't prioritize consent over things like status, power, domination, and sexual gratification.
For my research, I got a certificate of confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health, so my notes couldn't be subpoenaed. One of the reasons I call them perpetrators in my work is because every single person I interviewed confessed in that context. The first question I would ask them was, "When you received that email from Title IX that you were under investigation, did you know what it was about?" Every perpetrator I interviewed said "yes." If sexual assault were a miscommunication, you would be wondering, What have I possibly done wrong? That is not the way that any of them reacted because they knew.

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.
