i always loved the post that looked like they had implemented @everyone (you could make that look like an at reply to many, many accounts, and the bug was fixed so you can't do that anymore, but I remember seeing a notification that i was mentioned and it was hilarious)

I’ve had a single Opus 5.5 loop running for more than 48 straight hours now. It uses parallel workers and does multiple adversarial review passes per issue. I have it write linear project updates every 12 hours. It has shipped 60 PRs so far, and filed 108 issues, 69 (nice) of which are fixed.

it has big richard stallman energy look how impactful trying to play word games is at actually causing change. didn't help. mostly just makes you look out of touch. scolding people on saying gnu/linux instead of linux produced only a (admittedly, legendary) copypasta and not much else

I keep saying, big SemVer is always hard at work adding more SemVer 😆 Little-known fact, I wrote a cargo-semver-checks equivalent for Python, and it could handle both positional and keyword arguments, including their "only / both" flavors. It was kind of amazing how many footguns were in there.

Arguing about arguments
Here’s some Rust code: // define a function fn foo (x : i32 , y : i32 ) -> i32 { // body elided } // call it let z = foo ( 5 , 6 ); In programming language jargon, we call x and y parameters and 5 and 6 arguments . Rust does not have many fancy features related to parameters and…

Ectopic pregnancy deaths have nearly doubled. It’s worse in states, like Texas, with abortion bans. Worth your time to read. Especially if you know a woman of childbearing age in Texas or other states that have banned abortion. Article by ProPublica.

More ectopic pregnancy deaths in abortion ban states like Texas
After Texas banned nearly all abortions, patients have struggled to get ectopic care. More than 300 patients here experienced substantial blood loss in 2023 and 2024, compared to 2018 and 2019.

I started off this year writing a lot, and wanted to keep up the pace. I did good at first! And then… I didn’t manage to. In some ways, this is because I have just been super busy! I’ve never had less free time, and I’m okay with that. There’s a tremendous amount of good things…

The November 2025 Problem is the paradox that Claude Code becoming decent and Opus 4.5 suddenly being much cheaper is what got many people into LLM-driven development but also developmentally stunted them into thinking that terminal-watching and ever larger models are the correct path forward.
