C'mon man. Do better. This chart is misleading. Total private construction for 12/23 was $1,573B. Data centers was $1.9B. So the growth in data center and decline in all others, all others is still over 200X larger. The decline in all others is 1% and within normal fluctuations.

I grew up in a blue collar working class city. We had people who went to elite colleges, I know a handful who became #medical #doctors, others #lawyers, others successful in #engineering, #tech and #business. I cannot find a single person from my hometown who became a #college #professor. Not one.

YIMBY reforms can’t guarantee any exact price or affordability level for housing. (Those are also affected by construction costs, interest rates, demographic change and immigration, and local incomes.) What YIMBY reforms do is eliminate one factor pushing up prices: zoning caps on housing supply.

Why is inference cheap, and why is it going to stay cheap: 1) Servers are things you can easily rent or buy for a known cost. 2) There are quite a few frontier-quality models you can now download (for free! thanks, Xi Jinping!) and run on a beefy enough server. You can do cost math with this.
