The Tower of Zeldaga is a mashup of the Legend of Zelda and Tower of Druaga. Every room has a secret puzzle and the puzzles get more obtuse as you go on. It's free, runs in your browser (incl mobile), supports controllers, and I'd really love for you to try it out! legitimatebusiness.biz/tower/

A pro-union game journalist would be explaining the history of Japanese labor unions & strikes to readers. Telling them this is why no one at Nintendo can be easily fired. Instead we get this limp dick "I wish Iwata saved us all 😭" demobilizing nonsense

These things really bother me because games journalists are always saying they're pro-union. Well, Japan's game industry doesn't has mass layoffs because of the work of labor unions! Of strikes! But here we are, rewriting that history into "Japanese CEOs are nicer". Kill the neoliberal inside you.

Real talk, why half of the remaining games media is in Japan this week but no one can ever find a Japanese dev, consultant, journo or researcher to talk about Japan? Especially when we then get these experts who ignore the well-know fact that Japan has laws which make firing people extremely hard.

One of my biggest gripes with how we tell video game history is how we erase cool stuff like this - usually because it's "local" or isn't "a real game" So much of 90s and 2000s gaming was just derping around with freeware, browser & Flash games, emulators, and these sort of weird independent games

the house of ideas needs to put this up in the EIC's office as the guiding light of both "any time we do a swimsuit issue" and just in general

Dear Marvel,
I just saw your issue of MARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL 1994. It was very cool because it was 50/50 male/female. For once, someone was fair! It's usually 98% female.
I am a black female, late 20s. I want to see Thor NUDE! The Dan Panosian/Tom Smith picture didn't do him justice (in fact, 60% of all Thor pictures don't do him justice). THOR is truly a godsend! Please draw him much more handsome and NUDE in next year's issue! Thank you!

So… the reason it’s not smart for a government to nuke social trust to nonexistence is sometimes you need to convince the public a suicide note from a guy who said he wasn’t going to commit suicide uncovered over half a decade later a quadruple murderer said he found was real.

Starting May 9th, 7-Eleven Japan will sell a fresh Philly Cheesesteak roll with beef, onions, and two types of cheese inside of a baguette roll. It'll retail for 429 yen ($2.69). I'm sure Philly residents will have a lot to say (judgmental) about this but I'm so there.
