The film is written, directed, and co-stars Hitoshi Ozawa, a legendary Yakuza actor who is a villain in Yakuza 0, who got his fellow legends involved. This was his passion project inspired by one of his best friends, a trans woman, and he worked with the community for representative casting.

Just speaking for film & TV there isn't really a job loss due to AI. It's been mostly due to successive punches of pandemic, streaming collapse, union strikes, studio consolidation and interest rates. This trend was in place way before Midjourney was pumping out pictures with 14 fingers.

Time to watch ANGEL HEART (1987). Don't know a lot about this film, but it's apparently a somewhat supernatural film noir, starring a young Mickey Rourke well before he became fucked up, and the always great Robert DeNiro. One thing I like about the blu-ray is that it has a nice menu screen.

Watched RESIDENT EVIL (2026). There's been a lot of discourse about this online, and I'm sort of the mind that it's a good film, and that I actually like the Fish-out-of-Water aspect of having a protagonist who is not a cop/secret agent, and I do think Cregger's does a good job managing tone.

Watching RETURN TO SILENT HILL (2026) again. Trying to pay attention this time. I sort of tuned out the first time. The film is still a mess, but I'm less critical of it this time because I went in comparing it to the first one, which I loved, when I first watched it and expected more of it.
