Green Death, to give it its correct name. Seems it was broadcast in 1973 when I was approaching 5 years old, which seems quite young.

I don’t think I’m the only person who will appreciate this
Triangular diagram labelled The Introvert
Hierarchy of Needs.

Top: Self-actualisation - A completely empty house. An arrow pointing to the house says “Nobody needs anything. Nobody is coming home for hours. Phone on silent.”

The next level is Esteem - Plans getting cancelled. An arrow here says “‘Sorry, we're going to have to rearrange.’ Oh no. That's terrible. I'm devastated.”

Next level: Belonging - One person you actually like. No group chat. No networking. No "let's go round and introduce ourselves." Just one person you can talk absolute shit with.

Fourth level: Safety - An escape route. Own car. End seat. Knowing exactly when the event finishes. A believable reason to leave early.

Bottom of pyramid: Physiological needs - Being left the fuck alone for a bit. Food. Water. Sleep. 45 minutes where nobody speaks to you.

Ah yes, the Anchor, the Thameside Inn and occasional trips up to the Founders. There was also a modern brick-built place in a side street somewhere nearby that my boss liked, might have done curries, but I have no clue at all where it was let alone what it was called.

One of my favourite bits in The Outlaws was the drug dealers arguing about whether or not they could recycle the pizza box. They concluded yes, as long as it wasn't too greasy.

I worked on the other side of Southwark Bridge Road to you 1993-96 and yes it was very much a working market - and it was done and empty before I walked through on the way *into* work. I spent "a few" lunchtimes in the Market Porter and Globe, and still remember the falafel wraps from Clinkers Deli.

The future Grand Paris Express station Villejuif - Gustave Roussy is a masterpiece. It connects metro line 14 (already operating) to the future line 15 in this massive station. I counted a total of 24 escalators. It was eerily quiet since it’s not yet an interchange station.

At the end of every month we put the payroll through and the bank website says "are you 100% sure this isn't a scam?" and we have a good look at our staff and think "honestly not 100% sure, no."

One tricky thing about working with AI at any scale, personal agent or big company testing stuff, is really carefully thinking through how it does things and what guardrails you need to define. It's applying the "what could possibly go wrong" test on steroids.

Once again, I gotta say: you cannot treat anything you’re feeding into an AI as anonymous. There are enormous ethics implications for, e.g. referees who are clearly uploading others’ unpublished papers without consent, let alone health care professionals or law enforcement

On this day 12 and a half years ago I saw the coolest ever iceberg. Never seen one like it since. Fellsfjara, Jökulsárlón, #Iceland
A six-foot (ish) high turquoise iceberg with a small friend on a black sand beach. Grey rainy day with some of the turquoise reflected in the blank sand, and long exposure smooth waves breaking.
