I saw Wolfmother play in Bristol on Tuesday, and it was exactly as expected / hoped - loud, a big dirty sound, and a band who knew what they were doing. Really enjoyed it. Very minimal - just 3 of them, not even a backdrop, and a total of 1 guitar and 1 bass used in the whole show.

Part of the paintwork on the boot of our car flaked and needed fixing. Instead of paying £400+ for a respray (and being without the car for 2 days) I bought a part off ebay and have just fitted it. No blood spilled, not even any swearing, and it looks as good as new.

A man holding an LP. The headline is (incorrectly) "Rare vinyls sell for record-breaking prices".
The term is not "vinyls", same as it isn't "Legos".

I have thought about getting a Raspberry Pi for a long time, but had no sensible use case. Then last week I found out about BirdNET-Pi. My Pi arrived yesterday and it's up and running. There are several flavours I have never heard of, which may be false positives.

This graph shows my weekly scores since 2023 - Portsmouth scores in yellow, a 6 week rolling average in green, PB in blue. What this tells me is that I should have moved on from a traditional bow to a barebow a long time ago!
I reached 482 in mid-2023 but didn't get to 490 until May 2025.
I started using a different (but still traditional) bow in Nov 2025 and moved up through the 490s and passed 500 at long last at the start of March.
Then I bought my nice Barebow and my scores have accelerated - I have only shot with it 7 times but set a new PB on 4 of those, going from 502 to 505, 513, 522 and now 534.

This is getting ridiculous, I don't know how much longer I can keep this going, but I set *another* PB at #archery on Sunday - up from 522 to 534. 9 of 10 ends were 50+, the other one was 48. I had a 5 and a 6, so there is still some scope for growth.
Arrow placement, really good with just a few outliers.A 57 - 9 9 9 10 10 10.We shot a few ends at 30 yards instead of our usual 20. I was quite pleased with these 4, especially given that I can't really see where they're landing.
The other two were out in the blue.

My #archery today can be summed up as "best day ever". I increased my Portsmouth PB by another 9 points to 522/600. My PB was 497 in Feb and I first shot 500 in Mar. Shot a 57 for the first time. All 60 arrows in the red or better, no blues. The lowest end of 48 is my highest ever low end.
Chart showing where all of the arrows landed - none in the blue.
Also of note is that the highlighted "trend" shading is almost a perfect circle (it hasn't been before) and is centred directly on the X (it's usually been low).Arrows scoring 9 9 9 10 10 X10, for a total of 57, my highest scoring end ever.

Another good day at #archery with another PB - an increase of 8 to 513/600. I had two "all gold ends", both scoring 56 (equal PB for an end), and the last end had 3 X10s. I hit 35x 9/10/X golds, previous best was 30. And I managed it with a 43 on one end - even better scores to come!
Arrow distribution, only 4 in the blue but I really want to get it down to 0.All gold end no.1 - 9 9 9 9 10 XAll good end no.2 - 9 9 9 9 10 10Three arrows squeezed into the quite small X space

This might look like an ordinary kitchen tap, but it is actually quite special because I have just fitted it! I removed the old tap and even had to chisel out some wood to make room for the new underfixings, and then fit the new one. It even appears not to leak! 💪

I bought a new bow on Monday - an upgrade from a basic Samick traditional bow to a Kinetic Adeo Carbon - so today was my first shoot with it. And I broke the Portsmouth PB I set last week, up from 502 to 505 and 7 ends of 50+ The bow felt good, but I was amazed to do so well on the first go #archery

#Project500 has been completed - my Portsmouth round today was 502/600, so I am really rather pleased. To celebrate, I am going to buy a new bow tomorrow - and as one of the club coaches said, watch my scores plummet!

No, I don't know why it's called a Portsmouth, but there are others named after British towns.
The solitary 5 was on the last end, but fortunately didn't scupper the PB.

Frustratingly, #Project500 continues - in the main, I probably shot as well as I ever have, but 3 in the black meant I "only" scored 490. #archery
My scorecard.
6 ends of 50 or morr, including 4 consecutive, and I still can't get to 500.Shot distribution.
3 in the black FFS, and only 5 in the blue.Arrows scoring 8 8 9 10 10 and X, for a score of 55.
There's not a lot of room in the 10 ring, so 3 so close together is pretty satisfying.

After the excitement of last week's #archery competition, it was back to the club. And a 497/600 PB - up from 494 a few weeks ago. Featuring a 56 and a run of 4 scores of 50+ to finish (56, 53, 51, 50). And a new app, which records where each arrow is - I've wanted this feature for a while!
Archery scores of 8 9 9 10 10 X, for a score of 56, equalling my best ever end.A graphic of where all my arrows landed.
Only 4 outside the red, which is definitely the best I've done.

I am utterly gobsmacked. I enteted my first ever archery event today, a Portsmouth competition at Bowmen of Minchinhampton, and came second in my class - only 5 points off first! A score of 482/600 - Open 50+ Barebow. Two others from the club competed in other classes, and we had a full set of 🏅🥈🥉

In today's #archery news, after last week's disappointment, this time I managed a PB of 494/600, an improvement of 4 points. I still didn't crack 500 though, despite a half-way score of 253 - better than last week's. End scores were 52 52 47 51 51 54 43 49 50 and 45. Ends 7 and 10 let me down.
