Three views of one of Iceland's ice caves, taken in November 2020. Not many tourists in the country then so I thought I'd take the opportunity to visit when it wasn't too crowded. Wish I'd had longer! #Iceland #Canon5Dmarkiii

View in an ice cave - literally a chamber under a glacier. Some people can be seen at the end giving it some scale. There's a hole at the end letting in light, and the ceiling is a crazy turquoise sculpture.

And now for something completely different… Got the oil paints out today for the first time in about a year to paint this lovely orange squash that my husband grew on his allotment (the others were from others on the allotment - always lots of go round). Will now be able to eat them! #oilpainting

On this day 12 and a half years ago I saw the coolest ever iceberg. Never seen one like it since. Fellsfjara, Jökulsárlón, #Iceland

This is the ridiculously cool Stuðlagil (basalt canyon) in east #Iceland, taken on my first ever trip there in July 2020. The water isn't always this colour.

A very turquoise green river comes through a narrow canyon lined with upright basalt columns. Long exposure makes the ugly froth in the middle look nice and smooth.

An old favourite, taken on this day in 2019 up in the Westfjords of #Iceland 🦭🍂

The avenue of giant redwood trees (that aren't that giant as they were only planted about 65 years ago). Sun is filtering through and the floor is littered with their soft brown needles.

Update on focus stacking software! Just tried Helicon, and pretty pleased with the results. Will try a couple of others. This was 12 photos stacked (used the in-camera focus stacking function on the Canon R5 mark ii) and cropped to get a little closer. This is going to be fun to work with!

Visited my local woodland today where this time last year I'd already found many mushrooms & fungi. Not surprisingly due to the dry summer they're behind schedule this year - barely saw any! Did see this nice little muscid fly on one. Trying focus stacking but need software recommendations...

Time for some turquoise loveliness. Icebergs in Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon in south-east #Iceland, taken with the drone (during allowable hours/season!) last November.

I once saw a mermaid on a beach in southern #Iceland.
