I think a major difference between Dems and Republicans is that Republicans could turn even the hint of this sort of abuse into a culture war event. Remember the IRS targeting conservative orgs (they weren't but never mind)? Dems mostly don't have a media machinery to gin up this sort of outrage.

This makes perfect sense when you realize that Cenk, Ana, Brie, and the entire left media punditry got rich off of Trump 1's chaos and then their viewerships plummeted after Biden got elected. That was the status quo they feared from Harris: their continued irrelevance.
