Scientists studied a porcine mitral valve and a conical shell model and found that flow fluctuations triggered buckling and sealing. High-speed imaging and a stochastic model captured the transition. Read the Letter: go.aps.org/4dnvyeO

New preprint! Migrating cell clusters have an asymmetric shape, with higher contact angle at the rear and lower at the front. We explained it by treating the tissue as an active droplet driven by asymmetric tractions! arxiv.org/abs/2610.03536

Our paper on euchromatin and cohesin is now published!!🙌 Euchromatin forms condensed domains, and cohesin constrains their local mixing. This organization maintains transcriptional insulation. This work was truly a team effort, and I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to it.

Hearts have topological defects. By treating the mouse myocardium as a 3D nematic, we found disclination lines threading through it. In situs inversus hearts, twist must match structural chirality for contraction to work, as found by quantifying the nematic chirality. biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
