Well that's a fun new dark pattern in the YouTube UI - I see they've added an Ask Gemini button to the actions toolbar, and have coincidentally positioned it *right* where the Skip Ad button pops up. So if you go to click the Skip button just as the ad ends...

It is hard to overstate the egregiousness of this failure. The body whose statutory duty is to protect the human rights of, and prevent discrimination against, trans people has published exclusionary rules for trans people under the aegis of a government run by the party which created those duties.

Since the same arguments keep coming up, perhaps we could grasp that two propositions can simultaneously be true, and in tension: 1. Parties are not entitled to votes and must earn them. 2. Voters should understand how their electoral system works and be prepared to vote against as well as for.
