i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

We somehow escaped the nor’easter entirely on our trip to Cape Breton Island this weekend. We had almost no cell signal, which was lovely, but meant no posts or pics here. Highlights coming soon. For now, here’s me at the top of the Franey Trail—first real hike since shoulder dislocation in March!

My partner and I will have about half a day in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Friday. The weather should be dry. What do you recommend? Museums, walks, lunch places, and more all good. Outside of town is good too - Peggy’s Cove? (Any ideas, @awesomebiota.bsky.social?)

The most tragic thing has happened in my small, rural community. A woman died together with her two grandchildren when they drove off of a steep and poorly marked boat ramp into the ocean, on the wedding night of her son, the father of the two children. 💔 www.bangordailynews.com/2026/09/21/d...
