Is owning five portable cassette recorders too many?
Five portable cassette recorders, two large ones at the top, one black, one silver, then three walkman types below.

I went to a model train exhibition yesterday, my favourite layout was this one based on Brief Encounter which was in black and white. (Such a good film!)

Happy Star Trek Day I always think about Star Trek when I visit Southgate London Underground station. The station building and the outside benches remind me of the Starship Enterprise. Happy 60th anniversary to Star Trek :-)

When I can’t sleep I love 1970s horror films. They all have cheesy music themes that go “DA DA DAAAA” when the title comes up, it always makes me smile.

Bought a cheap N64 to go with my getting ridiculous retro collection. You CAN play N64 games on a Switch via Nintendo online but that is yet another subscription and I am sick of them, this you only pay once. N64 games changed everything moving to 3D, but Mario 64 and Zelda were still brilliant.

Ever wondered what the numbers mean on train tickets? I am going to tell you anyway! 1. Unique Ticket Number (UTN) 2. Sequential ticket number 3. Machine that printed the ticket 4. National location code of the station. 5. Which terminal printed it. 6. Payment method (X=debit card) 7. Date/time
A train ticket with orange top and bottom. The texts reads anytime day return value for one journey from Cambridge South to Cambridge. Adult standard class. Outward. To the top left is a box labelled 1 containing the text utn no. sabvwxlzkmk. To the bottom left are boxes labelled 2 (00092) 3 (7492) 4 (M131) 5 (23) 6 (06-x04) 7 (0622:280626)

This is my tree, I love my tree. I live in a flat which was built around 2010. I have watched my tree grow from the balcony since then. It is now almost big enough to touch from the balcony, but not quite. Maybe next year.
A tree and balcony fencing, a red car is just about visible though the leaves.

Bought an Amyboard, a cheap synth you can programme with Python. It is a programmable chip first and synth second, I’ve crashed it multiple times and had to hard reset. At the weekend I am going to code it to accept CV in and leave it because it is frustrating me. www.makerfabs.com/amyboard.html

Been building a GIS portfolio recently, including three good pieces and background documentation. I have no plans to job-hunt now, but in two years my employer will no longer exist. I’ve survived four restructures since 2010 and the anti trans movement is growing. I know nothing is certain anymore.

Contacted Greater Anglia with many geeky questions about the design of the new station at Cambridge South & they replied. 👍 I touched on why they’d gendered all the toilets in a new building given this means some trans people will feel unable to use them. They confirmed they are not enforcing EHRC.
We operate Gender Self-Identification, passengers should use the facilities that are appropriate to them, and we do not routinely monitor or police the use of these facilities. The same approach applies to toilet facilities available onboard our trains, which are not designated by gender.

We remain guided by the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and are committed to reviewing our policies and practices in line with any changes to legislation or official government guidance. We are aware that related matters are currently being discussed in Parliament, however, no changes have been formally enacted at this time. Should any legal requirements be introduced, we will ensure that our policies and facilities are updated accordingly.

Yesterday I went to Synthesiser day at the museum. As I transition I’ve found that many of my hobbies have changed substantially (more than I expected). This was another thing I used to be interested in but less so now. However I did still enjoy looking at the wires and patch bays for half an hour.

Had a fantastic morning at Cambridge South Station opening day. I’ve ridden a train to Cambridge and back again, I’ve chatted with some railway enthusiasts, seen some YouTubers and got a Cambridge South tote bag and badge. Buzzing with happiness. 🚂💙

This looks interesting, I have digitised polygons from Victorian and Medieval maps so I can make 3D models and it takes ages so only done small areas. There are tools to automate but with a lot of QA.
