You know what I really hate? When my friends don't have health insurance. Especially when the situation is "I could come get you and bring you to a doctor but we're not going to do that because bankrupcy." I can always scrape up some food or gas or clothes, but not high-level health care.

The thing about being disabled is that sometimes it's just disappointing. Ableism is real, but a lot of things aren't the result of ableism. They're just laws of physics or natural limits of resources, including the ability to communicate or expend energy. It sucks. But it isn't anyone's fault.

Found a nice wool coat in the thrift store today. Whoever owned it first, I'll bet they cursed it for having fake pockets. It has real pockets. They were just sewn shut to preserve the lines of the garment on the rack. You can pull those stitches. I'm doing it right now.
