🔋🚲 Dockless hire bikes are massively popular, but their sheer popularity and rapid expansion means they're causing some issues - particularly around over-full parking bays. Mayor is absolutely right that government & DfT need to hurry up to deliver a pan-London programme that works for everyone.

“We took the children off the roads. In 1971, 80% of seven and eight year olds got to school on their own. By 1990 it was 9%, and the fall has not stopped: more children are driven than ever, and cycling to school still barely registers. We did not defeat the danger. We surrendered to it.”

Utrecht becoming the world’s best cycling city isn’t an accident of geography or nationality. It’s a product of vision and investment. Therefore the blueprint isn’t just Dutch. It can be applied anywhere. Culture doesn't create infrastructure. Infrastructure creates culture. youtu.be/MHFUBzE_EjQ

“Many car owners assume they're fused to their machine, and don't need to walk anywhere. But even extreme users complete 20% of their trips by walking. This has profound implications. Even if a city claims to be vehicle-oriented, they still need to dedicate 20% of their mobility budget to walking."

A vertical infographic with a light purple border and a white center framed by a wavy edge promotes accessible design. Large, bold dark gray text at the top reads: “Accessibility should be standard.”

Three accessibility features are listed in light green rounded rectangles, each paired with a simple icon on the left:

A bright pink icon of a wheelchair traveling up a ramp, labeled “Ramps.”

A purple outline of a wide doorway, labeled “Wider Doorways.”

A light blue outline of an accessible toilet, labeled “Accessible Restrooms.”

At the bottom, the same bold dark gray text repeats: “should be standard.” Together, the headline and closing statement read: “Accessibility should be standard.”

The creator’s handle, “@MisaOnWheels,” appears vertically along the right edge in dark gray.
