Exxon predicts 2.5-3C by 2050! Actuaries & scientists warn 2C by 2050 will cause at least 2 billion deaths & 3C by 2050 will kill OVER 4 BILLION PEOPLE! The fossil fuel industry is TELLING US it’s gonna kill over half the world’s population. And from our ‘leaders’? Crickets.

We’re kept increasingly distracted, stressed & ignorant because stopping & thinking for just a few minutes would make it abundantly clear to anyone that our society is racing toward a collapse which most of us will not survive.

At that point in capitalism where we’re meant to be reassured when a CEO begrudgingly says they’d destroy their business to avoid killing the human race. Where ‘leaders’ have abdicated such decisions to the whims of sociopaths. (I also don’t believe him)

Earth’s Energy imbalance has TRIPLED in 20 years! Maybe a climate scientist can set me straight, but am I right in thinking this is the most rapid change in energy imbalance our planet has seen in its 4.5 BILLION year history?? If so, kinda feels like it should be bigger news.

Not a particularly smart person here, but with people puzzling ‘how’ AI might be able to kill everyone; it’s been trained by a civilisation that shrugs at genocide, that’s pushed the planet’s atmosphere, biosphere & its own food supply to the brink of collapse. It’s learnt from the best.

In a sane society, when someone decides to build a humanity-exterminating machine, everyone else stops them. In a capitalist society, when someone decides to build a humanity-exterminating machine, everyone else races to build a machine that exterminates humanity even better.

It’s no surprise that fascism is marching upward in lockstep with this wiggly line. Those profiting from decimating the planet benefit from public ignorance, confusion & anger. Giving our kids the chance of a survivable future means stopping the rise of the far right.
