I'm here in Mount Kisco, NY to tell Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the GOP HANDS OFF AMERICA Much of the focus on today's events will probably be the large rallies in big cities But make no mistake It is the smaller rallies The local rallies That will be the backbone of this movement

Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein was just bustin’ with pride over his March 28 story: “New Rubio order (leaked to me) directs the State Department to spy on student visa holders and applicants [on] social media,” he posted on Bluesky and X. He got the buzz that he wanted with thousands of reposts, and presumably a traffic boost to his $100-a-year site.

If you had a sense of déjà lu, it’s probably because you’d already read this piece, titled “State Dept. demands ‘enhanced’ social media vetting of student visa applicants,” by Marisa Kabas, another independent journalist. Her story ran a full two days before Klippenstein’s. (And Kabas’s version was more authoritative and better-written.)

I reached out to Klippenstein via email, Signal, and social media, but he didn’t respond. Maybe at some point he will (leak his response to me).

Kurt Vonnegut man
Americans, like human beings everywhere, believe many things that are obviously untrue. Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money. They will not acknowledge how in fact hard money is to come by, and, therefore, those who have no money blame and blame and blame themselves. This inward blame has been a treasure for the rich and powerful, who have had to do less for their poor, publicly and privately, than any other ruling class since, say Napoleonic times. Many novelties have come from America. The most startling of these, a thing without precedent, is a mass of undignified poor. They do not love one another because they do not love themselves.

Thinking about these guys
Financial Times: "I feel liberated," said a top banker. "We can say 'retard' and 'pussy' without fear of getting cancelled...it's a new dawn."

Some Wall Streeters also feel able to embrace making money openly, without nodding to any broader social goals. "Most of us don't have to kiss ass because like Trump we love America and capitalism"

How good we had it
How good we had it

Planes were falling from the sky and the sky itself was falling but didn’t the driveway still need shoveling? Salt for the icy steps. The kitchen sink full again too. And every day a new reminder that crying can get you anything you want in the world if it’s the right kind of crying. Tears of men weak enough to do grievous harm. I’m told that we can’t post our way out of fascism but they quite literally posted us right into it. Just another one of the many unfair things about fascism. I watched a Family Feud the other night where Steve told one of the teams that they didn’t give him the answers on his card beforehand but he damn well knew what the answers were not. One of two scenarios have presented themselves which is that everything gets so bad so quickly that a sufficient response becomes inevitable or else they only get just so bad overtime that we can keep putting our duty off until it is no longer ours. I pick up my phone every five minutes expecting it to tell me something good about the world and I thought of a night some friends and I crawled around on all fours looking for crumbs of cocaine that had been accidentally blown off the table into the carpet. I've been asking myself just how it is that a person can go about their day to day life at a time like this and I keep coming back to another question which is how did we ever convince ourselves we had the right to do so before?

The Attorney General cannot reach this conclusion without telling a patent lie. Everyone knows that information was classified. And they continue to insist we celebrate the leveling of a civilian residential building to assassinate one guy as some great success. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/u...

Attorney General Pam Bondi signaled on Thursday that there was unlikely to be a criminal investigation into the sharing of military operation details in an unsecured text group, declaring that the specifics of when fighter jets would depart and when bombs would fall were "not classified."
Ms. Bondi, speaking at a news conference in Virginia, was asked about the public debate surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after he sent details of a coming attack on rebels in Yemen to senior administration officials in a Signal group chat that accidentally included a magazine editor.
"It was sensitive information, not classified, and inadvertently released," Ms. Bondi said, while praising the military operation that ensued.
"What we should be talking about is, it was a very successful mission," she said, before quickly accusing Democrats from previous administrations of mishandling classified information.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday requiring people to provide documents proving they are citizens when they register to vote, a mandate that experts said could prevent millions of Americans from voting.
The order reflects Trump's long-standing fixation on election administration as well as his baseless claims following the 2016 and 2020 presidential races that both were riddled with fraud, particularly illegal voting by noncitizens. There is no evidence that widespread corruption, by noncitizens or others, tainted either contest.
