📺Tv Streaming 📺 Below netflix 👍 It's a good time Starts slow, has too many story lines then gets really busy for the last 3 episodes as it makes a mad dash for a happy ending

A new example of the unique brainworms found in the San Francisco left: DSA-SF has apparently refused to take a position on Proposition G, which would destroy Sunset Dunes park and reopen the Great Highway to cars. Why? It doesn't achieve "working-class justice."

DSA’s attempts at justifying their refusal to take a position include “all our leftist friends are staying out too!”, which is (imo) an unintentional indictment of the entire progressive movement in SF

The timing of this raid and reports that a White House official was involved raise serious questions that should concern all Americans, regardless of political party.

Let me make a sort of orthogonal point: I don’t get the attacks on immigrants - that even I’ve experienced - that sound like “you came here from a bad place.” Yeah man I know. That was the whole idea of coming here. To come to a good place where you can make something of your life in freedom.

no idea who made this but I think of that random person with gratitude every time I heat up any sort of wraplike food object in the microwave
two scenes from an X-Men animated program: in the first, scott summers and jean gray are making out; he is labeled "microwave heat" and she is labeled "plate." in the second, we are more distant from the couple, and wolverine is standing in the foreground, labeled "my burrito."

This is why imperial collapses can often seem extraordinarily sudden: They come as the culmination of decades of undermining the institutions, relationships, and structures that keep states functioning. A jenga tower can stand with missing blocks until it's given a tiny push.

Cannot emphasize enough that the morass we find ourselves in everywhere is a result of this commitment to white supremacy. The eugenic health policy, the belief and desire for US autarky, meddling & murder in Latin America, the half-cocked belief that the US could bully Iran- it really is.

The very ideas of “process” and “form” come from centuries of attempts to describe what ppl do with their minds, art, etc., and were extended to cover machines by analogy and implication, to now say oh no those words only describe computational machines is ridiculous

All science, all math is a collaborative process and there are truly very few actual transformative discoveries that were just one guy/gal. Also science almost entirely advances regardless of individuals, on or about the same pace it would have if you yanked out any one contributor.

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.
At this point, though, if someone contends they've never even heard of
"Choosin' Texas" or Langley, it may say more about the listener than the song.
Or, for that matter, what they want to project to the world. With incessant news coverage alongside chart and playlist presence, it's pretty difficult to still claim total ignorance on this one.
Perhaps there is a deeper reason why people say they haven't heard the song and feel the need to make it known: cultural cachet.
