Guess what the dominant issue among voters was in 2006 right before the election? A disastrous war of choice in the Middle East started by a Republican presidential administration. (SOURCE: Pew Research) Now bear in mind unlike the Iraq War, the Iran War was vastly unpopular from the beginning.

These people would be pissed off if a two-state solution was adopted tomorrow given that their actual view is that they don't want one of those states to exist.

Donald Trump tried to have his own former VP lynched, he's threatened multiple NATO allies with conquest, and he used the federal government to attack Minnesota. All of this was normalized. So Donald Trump dreaming of US cities he hates being struck by foreign firepower will be normalized too.

If you spent your time arguing that Donald Trump didn't mean *that*, he played you, and you allowed it to happen.

Donald Trump just wrapped up taking questions at the White House. The press did not ask him what he meant by 'let them take out Los Angeles and San Diego'.

Pay attention to the fact that a lot of the major social media accounts on X that participated in elevating Graham Platner did nothing tonight to elevate Troy Jackson's skillful debate performance against Susan Collins. If you're a Democratic voter, these people are not your friends.

Eight years ago today, Susan Collins voted to put Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. Maine women begged her not to. She did it anyway. He helped overturn Roe, and she says she has no regrets.

This should make people think twice before engaging in any further sanewashing of his comments. People are sure that Donald Trump didn't really mean *that*, yet Donald Trump himself is not saying "I obviously didn't mean *that*." He's avoiding an opportunity to say this.

Repeating this fact for emphasis: 100+ newspapers called on Bill Clinton to resign.

Election day is less than 30 days away. You have the choice to use your time arguing that Donald Trump doesn't really mean *that*, or you can just share the clip of what he said with the people that you know or ideally put that clip in a pro-Democratic ad. Think about the strategic thing to do here.

I honestly believe that Donald Trump is more likely to attack multiple cities in California than Iran is, and I'm not backing down from this assessment after Donald Trump used the federal government to attack the state of Minnesota.

Donald Trump used the federal government to attack the state of Minnesota, he tried to have his own former VP killed, he has threatened multiple NATO nations with imperial conquest, and he used social media to threaten elected Democrats with execution.

This is a personal anecdote that has stayed with me since 2003: when there was a disastrous earthquake in Iran—the 2003 Bam earthquake to be exact—I heard a Republican family member mutter to themselves when they saw the death toll of that earthquake on TV: "I wish it had killed more of *them.*"

Donald Trump's ideal economic policy is severing all federal government funding to states that didn't vote for him with the long-term intent of economically starving blue states to death. You can choose to believe this assessment, or you can believe that Donald Trump wants to give you money.

"Fuck this Senate candidate for campaining with a former president from the same party viewed favorably by the majority of Americans." It's important to stress that Republicans really wish that this was there situation right now.

Over 100 newspapers called on Bill Clinton to resign. Something to think about when you watch the media response to Donald Trump expressing that he'd be fine with Iran taking out multiple cities in California.

Well damn. If that's how you feel, sounds like someone should come up with a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to ensure that Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon. You probably also shouldn't trust someone who would tear apart such an agreement for literally no compelling reason.

Donald Trump wants American voters to pretend that he's on the ballot. If you're a Democratic voter, pretend Sam Alito is on the ballot too.

If you've never heard the term "compellence" before, it's a term mostly used in military strategy discussions. "A form of coercion that attempts to get an actor or group of actors to change their behavior." This thread argues for compellence, and is honest about what's necessary to achieve it.

So that's two Republican Senate candidates that Donald Trump has called a "pain in the ass" on the campaign trail—the other being Ken Paxton—and I'd like to think it's because polls are consistently showing them down against their Democratic opponents.

“Here's my take [on trans issues]: We don't throw anybody under the bus. That is not the party that we are. We start as a party of compassion and empathy.” —Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY) This should be Democratic messaging everywhere, not just in a state Donald Trump won by *checks notes* 30.53%.

"Even I didn't believe you would go this low." JD Vance's boss's claim to fame is accusing our first Black president of not being born in the United States. Why would you believe anybody who willingly works for Donald Trump wouldn't go this low?

The polling history of the 2018 Texas Senate race, which Democrats lost by only 2.6%, vs. the existing polling history for the current Texas Senate race. Now combine this info with Donald Trump wanting people to pretend that he's on the ballot when Fox has his net favorability in Texas at -11.

Donald Trump's chief complaint with the Iraq War was that the US didn't take their oil. He also advocated for killing the families of terrorists. This was information that we knew about him ten years ago. And somehow, "Donald Trump the peace candidate" was a take that was still allowed to thrive.

Fun fact about Donald Trump: in 1973, his real estate companies were investigated by the United States Department of Justice for engaging in housing discrimination. Guess who the President of the United States was in 1973, and can somebody please remind him.

If the GOP were leading on every issue polled by a credible political pollster, the dominant media narrative right now would be "Democrats in disarray." Meanwhile, "The GOP is in disarray" is not the dominant media narrative right now in response to the GOP not polling favorably on any issue.

I'm early voting Democratic next Tuesday. That said, this is a vote to empower Democrats to exhaust every means possible to pursue legal accountability. Because if there are no consequences for this administration's abuses of power, we're never leaving the era that Donald Trump unleashed.

I'm pretty sure even other Republicans politicos are thinking "You were supposed to blame Joe Biden for Donald Trump's economy, dipshit."

Alexander Ross @hardpolitics.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Joe Biden presided over the end to the United States's war in Afghanistan, and he kept the United States out of a war with Iran. The legacy US media attacked him for the former, and Joe Biden was never politically rewarded for the latter.
