Photographer with Leach’s Petrel Hydrobates leucorhous taken from promenade by RNLI Lifeguards Station, Wallasey, 20th Sept. There are many brilliant photos of this species from the latest wreck, but thought this would show the context and just how close to shore the birds were.

Eurasian Spoonbills Platalea leucorodia coming in to land on Boathouse Flash, Parkgate, 13th Sept. Juvenile, sub-adult, and adult (left to right). Our first of the year, having managed to miss this species on numerous occasions!

Three ducks at the lakes edge watching the sun go down; mallards and domestics. What made them stand out, they stood in a line and the middle would lean down and drink, and as they raised their head, the outer two would lean down and drink, synchronously and in unison; repeatedly.

I had not seen this species at Burleigh before. They briefly landed on the rocks in front of me before soaring off. Their black feathers and bright red beaks were so beautiful against the blue sea and white foam of the waves.
Joyful experience.

Autumn is here and the Swans are kicking their teens out of the nest. I snapped this juvenile swan frantically running away from dad through a tangle of trees and reeds. The little one got away for the moment, but it won't be long before he leaves permanently. 🍂🍁🍂 #BestOfTheMonth #BirdOfTheDay 🪶

In a tangle of narrow vertical brown tree trunks and green reeds, a juvenile swan stretches his wings as he flees from his father who is chasing him out of the area. The swan's plumage is a mix of white and grey/tan patches as he transitions from cygnet to adult. He is facing away from the camera, his head slightly turned to the right and dark beak pointed down. His wings are stretched out but bent downward at the elbow joint, and the right wing is more obscured by tree trunks than the left wing. His only hope is that his father cannot follow through the denser brush to continue chasing after him.

Zanglijster - Turdus philomelos - op een ongemaaid gazon dat nat is van de ochtenddauw. De vogel is schuin van achteren op de foto gezet en kijkt juist even op. De rug is bruin met donkerbruine lengtestrepen en de hals en flanken zijn lichtbruin met donkerbruine vlekjes.
