View from a mountain pass. The lake is seen from a distance of about one kilometer, and a few hundred meters high. In keeping with its name, it's shaped like a gun holster, and it's a kilometer and a half long, and half a kilometer wide. The lake is surrounded by very tall mountains, about one kilometer higher than the photographer perspective, and they recede into the distance for ten kilometers or more; their lower slopes and covered by forests. The sky is almost completely clear and blue.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay is #BokehBirds - a bird with a soft, muted or blurry background. This is a Rock Ptarmigan in Hamn #Senja #Norway, near #Tromso. I was not feeling well on a hike and pulled off onto a rock slab to rest a bit and this little guy came to visit & we had a magical moment together. 🪶
