Today's #BirdofTheDay theme is #Parenting. Fostered cowbird begging for food from foster parent yellowthroat. #birdphotography #brownheadedcowbird #commonyellowthroat
Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood predators, laying an egg in another bird's nest. This juvenile is begging for food which the "parent" is about to supply. I suppose one or more hatchling yellowthroats did not survive as the cowbird hogged all the incoming grub.
