A Canada Goose stands in the shallow water flanked by a pair of Mallards. Why they remained in such an awkward and unusual pose after all the great flocks had departed was so enigmatic that I really wished to capture an image that depicted it, but I’m afraid that the one doesn’t truly convey the full wonder of the miles of empty countryside, the dusk, and the three lonely friends.
