The problem isn’t that they’re moving past it—it’s that they’re trying to rehabilitate it. Would be better for everyone if people who don’t want to engage with the facts just talked about the play on the field and left it at that.

Second chances are for people who accept responsibility, apologise, pay their debt to society and show that they have changed. Watson hasn't done a single thing to deserve anything other that a lifetime of opprobrium and, hopefuly, a third torn achilles tendon.

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

The next Democratic attorney general should dedicate a deputy full-time to investigating everything Kushner has done over the past decade with the explicit aim of clawing back billions from him and throwing him in prison. It's the most blatant corruption in American history. bsky.app/profile/cnni...

I love when they say things like this. They provide great callback opportunities for the third act. For example, when Markwayne complains about the squalid conditions in his cell at Guantanamo Bay, the guard will say “We’re not providing Holiday Inns” in a satisfying manner as he locks the latch.

It’s, um…interesting that the documentation req’d by disadvantaged folks to access social safety net programs - in the interest of “accountability” to ensure no improper use - is not req’d by the very politicians who rail about the need to be responsible with taxpayer dollars.

Basically using LLMs and agentic ai is a massive security risk and no one should do so basically ever and these companies should be prosecuted for hacking. Also two-party consent should extend to all electronic communications.
