In all seriousness as someone who works in tech I have the dumbest devices and where I have no choice but to buy someone that has wifi or Bluetooth I simply don't hook it up or pair it (including the TV, but definitely appliances.) There is nothing that can be improved by an app.

When we first moved to Salt Spring I was shocked to hear a loon out front. Used to hear them in Ontario all the time, but my brain totally associates them with Hinterland Who's Who and Ontario lakes. Turns out they enjoy all bodies of water, including oceans! Still super surreal to hear them here.

Hahaha My bubbleometer was at 9.4 bubbles out of 10 bubbles already; I was not pessimistic enough. SLM had 7x efficiency gain in watts/inference, were as good for Level 1-2 tasks and were 85-92% as good even at Level 3-4 tasks. Only at Level 5 (np hard type stuff) do LLMs win and it's still 50/50.

I have had a bit of a glow-up over the past few years, thanks to Big Pharma and the science of dermatology. Unfortunately, I work in tech where looking nice is penalized wrt credibility. Especially if you're a woman. So one of the things I started doing was wearing my hair up and wearing cheaters.
