WIP Wsaturday? 👀🐙🦈

He's seen this before, of course he was. He's seen Ed in just about every imaginable combination of clothing they both own, and out of it. It still strikes him dumb, like some kind of mythological divine lightning bolt, and his words cut off like they've been chopped.

"Oh," he manages weakly, prompted by Ed's slowly raising eyebrow to say something.

"Oh," Ed echoes, soft and amused and gently mocking. He spreads his arms, presenting himself like he's a star prize on a gameshow. "What do you reckon? Still got it?"

Well, Stede thinks, better take a really good look to make sure. But his eyes hardly know where to dart and linger first: Ed's beautifully polished leather boots, where Stede has spent many a pleasant hour greedily rutting his dick with a gloved hand wound tightly in his hair? The gloves, half-fingered to show black painted nails and the bluish dots of old tattoos? Ed's black leather trousers, tight as a second skin? The soft brown stretch of his belly and inked chest, striped with the studded leather bands of a harness? His signature one-sleeved leather jacket, somehow making the bare body beneath it feel more explicit than if he were completely naked? The silver spill of hair flowing down almost to his shoulders now from under a peaked leather cap? The long, sleek riding crop he's holding in one hand?

He rests on Ed's eyes eventually, ringed with softly smudged dark makeup and sparkling in the low lamplight. They're the brightest thing in the room.

"Always," Stede tells him. He's not even trying to sound cool, because what would be the point? It's impossible anyway when faced with a sight like this, but more importantly he simply doesn't want to. Ed can know what this does to him. He deserves to know.

Ed smiles, sweet and lopsided and maybe a little bit relieved. It's not a very Blackbeardy expression, and Stede loves it—loves this peace Ed has finally made with himself, this ease he seems to find now in blending the two parts of himself in whatever combination he feels like. "Fucking hate my hair, though. Looks like a Karen bob."

Stede's throat feels too dry for a proper laugh and it comes out as a vague little wheeze. "Shush. It's lovely."

The crop moves then, an upwards flick so swift that Stede doesn't realise it's in motion until it's already stopped just beneath his chin. There's no sting of an impact there, only the insistent nudge of the leather loop and the tip of the shaft raising his face.

"Don't shush me, Bonnet," Blackbeard says softly.
