the truly crazy making part of all of this is that voter fraud EFFECTIVELY DOES NOT EXIST. you have a better chance of finding an actual leprechaun at the end of the rainbow than of finding evidence of voter fraud that influences an election

Two examples of politicization today: 1/ Political appointees putting out reports under the Census banner that is bunk. There is a reason the authors won't stand behind their work. Any serious data researcher would be embarrassed. Creates doubts both about the election and the integrity of Census.

To succeed in the upper echelons of higher education in Florida that you have to be a part of, or approved by, the dominant political regime in the state, which hands out well-paid positions to unqualified officials. In this respect, Florida is not meaningfully different from, say, China, with the exception that China puts more emphasis on merit for the most senior positions.

It's like a parody, but it's deadly serious; the Commerce Department (which includes Census, NOAA, and others) has outright deleted "don't alter or suppress scientific findings for political reasons" from its scientific integrity rules. Seriously.
Protecting against "inappropriate influence" is no longer a "hallmark" of scientific integrity

The Commerce Department updated its policy for promoting a "culture of scientific integrity" in January 2025, days before Trump's second inauguration.

A new Trump administration order bans the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis from using statistical “noise,” or data for fuzzing survey results, to protect people’s privacy in their statistics.

The 2025 version included bans on attempts to shape or interfere in data collection, statistical analysis and other scientific activities "against well-accepted scientific methods and theories or without scientific justification."

The department's policy, the 2025 version said, involves ensuring scientific findings at its agencies "are not suppressed, delayed, or altered for political purposes and are not subjected to inappropriate influence," as well as making sure there's "independent review of facilities, methodologies, and other scientific activities as appropriate to ensure scientific integrity."

That language is missing, however, in the Trump administration's revision of the policy, according to an NPR analysis of text posted on the Commerce Department's website.

And while the revision adopts a definition for "scientific integrity" that is similar to the previous version, it no longer says that "protection from inappropriate influence" is among the "hallmarks of scientific integrity."

Shocked to learn that the political party led by pedophiles and dedicated to protecting pedophiles has created a police force filled with pedophiles.
A new report by the Ohio Immigrant Alliance, released today, pulls back the curtain on a stunning level of sexual criminal behavior within ICE and CBP. Out of 152 cases of identified immigration officials or contractors accused or convicted of criminal behavior, 131 of them, or 86.2 percent, were charged with sex offenses. Seventy-eight of them—51 percent of the entire cohort—"committed sex offenses against children—the single largest category on the list," the report states. Cases involving a CBP officer, the report finds, "are more likely to involve underage victims" than those of an ICE officer. Yet fully half of ICE officers accused or convicted of sex offenses (12 of 24) had a minor as their victim.

Worth clicking through to the documents linked here and reading donor emails. Lynne Redleaf, whose family foundation gave $3m to UofM in 2024 according to tax filings, analogized Segal's appointment to making Byron Donalds head of an African American studies department ccrjustice.org/sites/defaul...
Today, after seeing this email, and getting some messages from friends, I took some time to dig in to learn about Raz
Segal and Andy and I took time to discuss the readings. After reading about Raz Segal, including the piece he wrote for
Jewish Currents on October 13th, which is hyperlinked below, we have come to the conclusion that Richard Painter is
absolutely correct, and Raz Segal is far too extreme to serve as Director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide
Studies and he is, in fact, an anti-Zionist.
In his letter of October 13th, Raz Segal engages in a thorough and nuanced analysis of genocide, and whether Israel’s
actions constitute genocide. Yet, his mention of the actions on October 7th that led to Israel’s response, gets a brief
mention, and he uses all sorts of tropes that are offensive to Jews. In the October 13th. Piece he references “apartheid”
and in another article I found, he references “settler colonial rule.”
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/oct/24/israel-gaza-palestinians-holocaust
It is one thing to engage in an analysis of whether Israel’s actions constitute genocide, whether or not we might agree
with the analysis. It is also acceptable to criticize Israel’s actions in this war and Andy and I are very troubled by the
number of innocent people killed in this conflict. It is completely inappropriate for somebody who doesn’t believe in
Israel’s right to exist to lead a center on genocide that specifically names the Holocaust as genocide. The fact that Raz
Segal is Israeli, does not give him cover. His appointment as director is just as offensive as appointing Byron Donalds,
who recently praised Jim Crow laws, to lead the African American Studies Department
