When building stuff, I wonder how I can best protect where the wood contacts the ground. It turns out there are multiple long-term exposure studies, going back to 1927. The really good stuff is poison, only allowed for railroad ties and phone poles. Commercially treated lumber can last 60 years.

My Apple Watch is old enough that the battery only lasts 24 hours if I remain relatively sedentary. A major purpose of the watch is to ensure I get enough exercise. You see the incentives-alignment problem here.
