Last month, I had an industrial A/C unit installed, because the summers have been getting brutal enough that I wasn't sleeping and the cats were suffering. It is also a heater. I have just turned it on for the first time, and I don't think I HAVE this many cats. Where are they coming from?

Do any of these clowns even know - let alone admit publicly - that music is a bodily system? Music isn't a programme or a language or a series of problems and solutions, although it can incorporate all of those things. It's a uniquely human bodily impulse/reaction/response THING - come on now!

On a realistic note I’ve discovered probably five times as much new music I genuinely love through semi-regular KEXP listenership (playlists by DJs) than I’ve gotten from Apple Music/Spotify recommendations over the past three years since I’ve lived in Seattle. I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."
Post from NYT reporter Eric Lipton

"What an odd moment in United States history.

A U.S. president is running an overtly political campaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government.

Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit."

DoorDash messed up.
They repeatedly left more than 260,000 NYC delivery workers underpaid or paid late, causing them immense stress and financial difficulty.
That's unacceptable.
We've secured a $131.5M settlement from
DoorDash - the largest worker settlement in NYC history and largest delivery worker settlement in
American municipal history.
Every worker will be paid what they are owed, and every company will be forced to abide by the laws of this city.

Thank you to the Independent for including me in Climate List of Worlds Top 100. The UK Labour Govt are due to approve new oil & gas licences in the north sea. They've delayed the decision post October 8th. We can invest in renewables instead. Vote Green in Holborn & St Pancras
Since becoming leader of the Green Party in 2025, Zack Polanski has made the links between climate change, inequality and the cost of living central to his politics, arguing that environmental action must also make people’s lives better.

This summer, as the UK faced its hottest summer ever and wildfires swept across the UK and the rest of the globe, he called for oil and gas companies to pay higher taxes to fund climate adaptation. That is alongside investment in cooling homes and public spaces and bringing water companies into public ownership.
