Do I still want a combined biography of Margaret of Anjou AND Margaret Beaufort? You bet your biscuits I do. Beaufort wove in and out of Anjou's court, and we rarely consider how Beaufort might have learned from the v strong, active queen/regent tradition in which Anjou had been raised.

Viens, Marguerite, shoulders back.
One last inspection, before I kiss you

the life of a queen, her path
of crushed roses, salt and honey.

It is God’s will; noble work.
Listen to your body; feel His love
working through you, for you

and if He is silent, work harder.
After all, how can you say

if you blanch at the price?
I bled for you, Marguerite. Paid
for you, over and over. My body
