Well, another brilliant collection on the horizon is from one of my favourite ever poets, the  awesome Kerry Darbishire, who has created what I think is very much her finest work to date. Which frankly is going some. Today, I can only share the beautiful cover based upon a Stephen Darbishire painting, which naturally captures the mood perfectly. The book is due for release in January, with pre-orders opening a bit sooner than that.

Well, we're getting into the end of year bobbins and I have to say that the Death of the Hedgehog ™ is starting to feel a lot more real than it did a couple of months ago. (Gulp!) There is literally just the Final Crimson Spine Competition left that will need to be judged, the Final Cult boxes will be on their way next weekend and then a manic few months that will see a lot of pamfies and books shared with the world.

Blimey - it is always weird when you come up with an idea, and then it turns into a reality and arrives in a brown cardy box, but I have to say that our first - and maybe only, given the on-going hogicide - is a wee stunner. A really simple idea - a foldy origami bit of paper that turns into a pocket wonderfilled with stunning poetry, and in this case it is the amaziballs poet lady Katrina Moinet that is turning it into something truly special. Can I just say, and excuse the frothyness of the comment, but I love Margaret Royall's poetry. We've just (finally, finally) finished pulling together her new collection and sent it off to print, and it reminds me how much I love reading her work. I think this is the third collection we've done (I should check, but it involves energy ;o) and she constantly astonishes me with just how good she is.

Kitchener Road and the adjoining Hobson Road are a development of post war streets built as part of the slum clearance / regeneration of the inner cities.
