I'm planning a new career as a "fitness influencer" (which is what I believe they're called). Link to my YouTube channel in next post......
EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 60

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags. Then try 50-lb potato bags and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level).

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

UK threatens to expel Israeli diplomats after closing of East Jerusalem consulate
Tit-for-tat expulsions expected after relations deteriorate as a result of UK ban on goods from illegal settlements The UK has threatened to expel one Israeli diplomat for every British diplomat forced to leave Israel as a result of Israel’s decision to close the UK consulate in East Jerusalem later this week. This could means as many as 27 Israeli diplomats being expelled from the UK, a step that would arguably mark the lowest point in British-Israeli diplomatic relations since the formation of the state of Israel. “Zionism is racism” is not a policy but a slogan. It compresses a complex history, going back millennia, and a very wide set of beliefs into one narrow meaning. The answer to genocide is not discrimination. We don't fight racism with racism. I’m gutted to see this motion adopted by the Green Party.

Adam Wagner KC, barrister who led the case which concluded Corbyn’s Labour broke equalities law, said there is "a strong risk that the motion as passed contravenes the Equality Act 2010... as it will discriminate against and harass people who hold Zionist beliefs and Jewish people more generally."
Adam Wagner KC, the barrister who led a case which concluded that Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour broke equalities laws over antisemitism, said that such a case would have a good chance of success.

“I think there is a strong risk that the motion as passed contravenes the Equality Act 2010, which applies to political parties, as it will discriminate against and harass people who hold Zionist beliefs and Jewish people more generally.,” he said.

“Zionism, defined in the broad sense of supporting the establishment, development, and protection of a Jewish nation state in its ancestral homeland, the land of Israel, is likely to be a protected belief under the Equality Act 2010.”

He said there was a strong risk that the policy, especially if it resulted in disciplinary action, “will create an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment for both Zionists and Jewish people, therefore harassing them”.

What people fail to understand is also that Zionism was not just a plan/ideology for Jews in Palestine, it was also a vision for Jewish *diasporic* identity. Much of Zionist activity has always taken place outside Palestine/Israel and was about communal identity and politics. Hence the attachment.

Most striking of all is that this is explicitly a very *pro-politics* speech, a direct rebuttal to the anti-politics that is so widespread. And rightly so: politics can change things, it is an admirable thing to choose to engage in and a duty for us all to step forward and pursue.
