Speaking as a Norman who remembers what Britain was like pre-invasion, I am appalled and terrified by this nostalgia for the 1050s. King William increased free trade, imposed the rule of law and unleashed incredible creativity in the field of giving my father lots of land and serfs

I will never forget all the cynical gainsaying and disinformation about the strike on Al-Ahli hospital ten days into Israel’s destruction of Gaza. ‘Fog of war’. Almost three years later, fewer than half of Gaza’s hospitals remain even partially functional and there is no fog. Only dust and rubble.

Shot. Chaser.
Screenshot of the BBC website. Picture showing Ed Miliband at a podium.
Headline: Foreign secretary addresses Israel-Gaza war
Text: Miliband says Labour will stand against antisemitism wherever it finds it, and stand against those who seek the destruction of Israel.

But the foreign secretary says this "cannot justify the suffering the Netanyahu government has inflicted in Gaza and the West Bank", adding that it is a "stain on the conscience of the world".

He says to those who have been "moved and outraged by the plight of Palestinian people - we hear you, you were right".

“Under Andy’s leadership, we have reset our approach. We call out ethnic cleansing by the settler terrorists in the West Bank, we call out the evidence of war crimes in Gaza, we call out Israel’s illegal occupation of Gaza," he says.Screenshot of the BBC website. In fact, these are scenes we have not seen on British streets. Immigration needs to be deal with, I will be the first to say that and we are dealing with it. The boat crossings have been halved since six years ago, net migration is down massively.

Screenshot for a Defector podcast episode with the headline "Consider the Emotional Lives of Scallops" only the accompanying photo is a white gormless stubbled red-headed UK singer of recent notoriety giving a flat smile to the camera while wearing a washed out peach top as beige as he is against a flat background. MSF International 2
@MSF
On 13 September, an MSF bus carrying 10 humanitarian staff in Gaza City was damaged by an Israeli airstrike on a targeted vehicle just two metres away. One of our colleagues was injured in the strike.
The bus was clearly identified as an MSF vehicle, with a large MSF sticker visible on its roof. Once again, Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical personnel.
Nowhere is safe in Gaza. Civilians, healthcare workers and humanitarian staff must be protected. Clearly marked medical and humanitarian vehicles must be spared from attacks.

The astonishing sum comes after Andy Burnham last month dropped his support for capping the amount a person or organisation can give in a single donation. The PM may be regretting that now.
