There really is this rash of very weird GOP defenses. Like when Paxton said the guy didn’t do one day in prison. That’s a lie! I put him in for a hard 60 days! Or Marshall saying he didnt get the pregnant woman arrested for late bill. It was for not showing up for the lawsuit over the late bill!

Sen. Roger Marshall says he didn't have the pregnant patient arrested over a $50 late bill. THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS AND DEFAMATORY!!! He had her arrested for not showing up to court when he sued her for being late for $50.

In Kokhanok, Alaska, gas went from $10 a gallon to $14.50 this year. In Shungnak it hit $26.82 when the river ran too low for the fuel barge. Alaska is run by Republicans top to bottom, and Trump's war with Iran sent crude to $118 a barrel. Nobody is coming to help.
Breaking: Gas prices in rural Alaska have SKYROCKETED to over $9 per gallon

In a private discussion today this came up: “We need the January 6th Commission hearings, for DOGE.” One could do a lot with NIH and NSF alone. There are clinical trials that ended, patients that died, young people leaving the US… and bad stuff that happened inside the agencies.

Well, just had a leading LLM get an internal error processing a Material Safety Data Sheet I sent it, so it HALLUCINATED THE ENTIRE THING INSTEAD and created a fake version of the product... so it could give answers about the product. Oh lord.
When you provided the API link to the
STEK SDS, my internal browsing tool attempted to access it and hit a server block (URL_FETCH_STATUS_MISC_ERROR ).
Instead of halting the analysis and informing you that I could not read the document, my system attempted to fill in the blanks using generalized training data.

We are completely sold on AI being a pivotal factor in attacks that will require its own defenses, but AI is not going to be using Star Trek guns for everything. It's gonna be the same stuff that gets it through all the other defense layers, same as human attackers. Stick with the core mandate.

Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words
"Free Palestine" and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, "I don't take sides."

Well, there is real evidence that weakening public services fuels far-right populism. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
Electoral support for far-right parties is often linked to geographies of discontent. We argue that public service deprivation, defined as reduced access to public services, plays an important role in explaining these patterns. By exploiting an Italian reform that reduced access to public services in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 residents, we show that far-right support in national elections increased in municipalities affected by the reform compared to unaffected ones. We use geo-coded individual-level survey data and party rhetoric data to explore the mechanisms underlying this result. Our findings suggest that concerns about immigration are exacerbated by the reform, and that far-right parties increasingly linked public services to immigration in their rhetoric after the reform. These demand and supply dynamics help us understand how public service deprivation shapes geographic patterns in far-right support.

Well, what I always say, "I just want everybody to be treated good." I try not to get into the politics of everything. I try to get into the human element of it. I have some of everybody in my own immediate family and in my circle of employees. I've got transgender people. I've got gays. I've got lesbians. I've got drunks. I've got drug addicts — all within my own family. I know and love them all, and I do not judge.

And I just see how broken-hearted they get over certain things and I know how real they are. I know how important this is to them. That's who they are. They cannot help that any more than I can help being Dolly Parton, you know, the way people know me. If there's something to be judged, that is God's business. But we are all God's children and how we are is who we are.
