I loved how subtle aspects were incorporated into this piece, like the tripartite key, drawings of sperm and egg on the door and even some phylogenetic trees! 🌟 But did you notice, what lies beyond the door? Ribosomes and molecules found within the egg!

This is an incredible paper, revealing the molecular architecture of a network of cytoplasmic filaments at near atomic resolution. They present clear evidence that these filaments assemble to provide a storage places for the many maternally encoded proteins needed for early embryogenesis. WOW!!

I see no better way to kick off this account than a brand new #sciart ! Out now in Nature, three studies report the generation of human embryo models starting from stem cells and I was lucky enough to illustrate the findings of the Zernicka-Goetz lab at Cambridge Uni & Caltech! 🔥
