Legitimately asking for a friend. If you know / can recommend a Baltimore-area personal injury attorney or firm, please let *me* know - I would really appreciate it. If the attorney works on contingency - even so much better! Again, not asking for myself!

This is yet another stunt by the Department of Justice attacking the integrity of Minnesota's federal judges. In emails to habeas petitioners' lawyers, they have complained that they feel getting certain judges means they automatically lose. And they've openly attacked individual judges before.

It feels genuinely ridiculous having to say this, but the point of art is to connect with another human. Someone thought of that painting or melodic line or scene or paragraph that is suddenly making you weep, and that means that they saw you and understood you without even meeting you.

The Pope reminds me of a version of Catholicism I knew growing up as a young man attending anti-war and anti-death penalty protests, where I met elderly Catholics who shared their version of faith with me. I learned that Catholicism was about love and mercy for the weak, the condemned, and the poor.
