Part of what makes the smear “radical bike lobby” so comical is that there really isn’t some deep-pocketed lobby behind bike lane advocacy. The industry has totally abdicated any role in promoting infrastructure for bike riding, unlike the auto industry.

IMO car dependent places are awful for raising kids (I was raised in one). You turn into an Uber driver for your own kids or they’re stuck at home. I’m raising my kids in a city where we have everything we need close by and freedom to choose how we get around: walking, biking, transit or driving.
