But years later, the site was taken down (with much pushback from us and other alumni) and our investigative series went with it. Pat, who still had all the files, made a bare bones WordPress site so the series could live on — but what used to pop up as a search result is now buried online.

When we continued on with the project, we were then told we would not be allowed to publish our series on the website where students’ stories were posted. The school owned the website, so could make those decisions.

Our university president got wind of our project and visited our class. He started off with remarks about his concern for victims, then turned to how this series could not be published. How we would likely be sued and would never be able to afford it. How we would never land a journalism job.

Eventually, 11 of us, Jan and another one of our professors, Pat Richard, formed an investigative team. But getting women to tell their stories wasn’t the challenging part of the series. Being able to publish it was.

We hope this person recovers from their serious injuries. As we explained last week at the Transportation Standing Committee meeting, parking lot crashes involving pedestrians should be included within municipal reports and open data. They can be prevented by taking action.

While commuting back home by bike, I encountered a red light runner in her SUV, almost crashing into another cyclist in front of me, at North & Almon. Also, Windsor NB bike lane is full of mud. It's very slippery.

when these things are pulled right up to a Crosswalk trying to turn right on red, it is 100% certain kids are not at all safe. per our active travel survey - 78% of parents whose children do not walk or roll as their main mode felt that walking was unsafe.

We need more carrot (transit investments upgrades) and more stick (drivers getting used to not being entitled to every inch of road space and sometimes the bus gets there faster than they do). People will use transit when it’s the best choice for them.
