I don’t think I’m ever going to get the appeal of pivoting to video for podcasts. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 20 years, and never once have I thought, my God, I need to SEE these people! I’m on a walk or doing the dishes, I don’t need video.

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Conclusions and recs:
CONCLUSION

Schools play a key role in developing a love of reading among children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds who otherwise lack opportunities to access books. The Department acknowledges this, but its policies do not reflect this, with work on reading focusing overwhelmingly on proficiency over pleasure.

Conclusion
There is a wealth of academic evidence demonstrating what good practice in schools looks like to encourage reading for pleasure, focusing most strongly on primary schools. It is now time for the Department to make use of this evidence and ensure that it is disseminated to every school and that schools and teachers are supported to implement good practice. The evidence on secondary schools must also catch up so that reading for pleasure is not solely seen as the remit of primary schools.

Recommendation
In its strategy on Reading for Pleasure, the Department should set out the core elements of good practice shown by schools who have achieved the Open University’s Reading for Pleasure Quality Mark for schools and set out guidance on how all schools can deliver this. As part of this, the Department should set out expectations for all schools to include protected time in the school day for reading and discussions about books with examples of how this can be achieved that are relevant both to primary and secondary schools up to key stage three.
