They are the quintessence of generic industrial meat, imported here to be subsequently processed in massive grinders that combine pieces of tens of thousands of cattle from multiple countries, mainly into fast food hamburgers.Rotten meat treated with ascorbic acid and other chemicals to mask the contamination had been sold to hospitals and schools in Brazil and also been exported. Five people climb a gantry in the name of Just Stop Oil and the police shut the motorway, arrest the protesters and imprison them for up to 5 years. Hundreds of people block one of UK's busiest ports in the name of Stop the Boats, and the police do nothing and no-one is arrested. Really? Sigh.

This country used to know how to deal with fascists interfering with the peaceful operation of Dover...
Photograph of British servicemen in full panto drag, manning (or possibly daming) a naval gun overlooking the Channel. I'm pretty sure this was taken for propaganda purposes rather than a genuinely spontaneous event - the idea that normal, sometimes silly, life was going on despite (and *to spite*) the Nazis was an important message on the home front.

A charcoal drawing of the head and shoulders of a young slim white woman with long dark straight hair in a short sleeved, round necked blouse. She looks out of the drawing with an intense but inscrutable expression.

Colorful beads were very popular in the early #medieval period, particularly during the 6th and 7th century. This necklace was found in the grave of a woman in Donaueschingen-Neudingen. It consists of more than 50 beads made of amber and glass. Dating ca 525-550 AD. 📷 me
The beads exhibit a variety of shapes and colors, including orange-red amber beads. They are predominantly present at the top sections of the circle. There are also yellow, turquoise, blue, green, and multicoloured beads
The arrangement of beads appears uniform, strung in a continuous, circular pattern. The metal wire that holds the beads is visible. The background is a plain, dark gray/black colour, drawing attention to the necklace's design and colours.
