This would be a very sensible, logical strategy but... ... I do wonder if those briefing it have actually engaged with the policies the Tories have been throwing out for the past few years

A common theme that drives me absolutely wild with elections/polling these days: 1. Right wing wrecks everything 2. Left of centre figure elected 3. Left of centre can’t fix all the damage in 5 seconds so the right wing, who have got 10x worse in the meantime, lead polls again/win next election

This was always my favourite of my tweets. Mostly because I got to use the word indelibly, a beautiful word not often wielded by boys who begin their working lives in their grandmother's bomb making factories.

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad threatening to sue the Premier League over charges relating to Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City’s sponsorship deals is certainly one way of demonstrating that there was absolutely nothing unusual about Manchester City’s sponsorship deals at all.

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

Unfortunately for Simon Clarke, this just shows a South East bias. The North West was a dumping ground in the 80s and everything Clarke says here only relates to those that had money

Why do people aggressively reply to posts explaining the post back to the person that posted it? It's not my fault you can't read things and pick up on minimum levels of nuance. Dense bastards

This is just further proof of the bent nature of the sponsorships. No regular sponsor would threaten to sue the Prem for the reputational damage of a report they arent even named in. They would just cut ties with the club www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Rui Pinto, the man behind the Football Leaks website, has posted a detailed allegation about Gianni Infantino’s role in UEFA’s handling of Manchester City and PSG in 2014, citing material revealed through Football Leaks. These are Pinto’s claims, and they’re worth reading in full below.

Screenshot of a post by verified account Rui Pinto (@RuiPinto_FL), dated 30 September 2026. Pinto alleges that Gianni Infantino, while UEFA General Secretary in 2014, improperly intervened in investigations into Manchester City and PSG, sharing confidential documents and helping both clubs avoid potentially harsher sanctions. He says the details were revealed through Football Leaks and concludes that Infantino has become “a cancer on football” who should have no place in the game’s future. Seen a few reds calling for Berrada to go. Got to agree with them and appointing the man directly in the middle of a lot of the sham partnership is another huge question mark over Jim Ratcliffe's judgememt

The point I've been making about this, it's not a football scandal. It is immediately on a par with the 10 largest corporate fraud cases of the past decade. Companies went bust, directors were jailed and audit companies fined 10s of millions. www.learnsignal.com/blog/account...
