Early voting in Ohio started on Tuesday. The rest of this one, plus next two week’s hours are M-F from 8-5 at your county’s Board of Elections office. Vote NO on the constitutional amendment that will make it extremely hard for the elderly and disabled to vote by mail.

Every woman who comes forward and lays her trauma bare for the world to see does so hoping it will lead to a better world for women. It never does. And yet, we keep trying.

This man is unfit in every possible sense of the word. He is the worst impulses of this nation given physical form, and it is the duty of every single one of us who actually believe in freedom and democracy to make sure he and his followers are banished from power.

Is it woke to be horrified by what happened at Cornell--and by the "boys will be boys" excuse-making of so many then and now? If so, perhaps we should all be a little more woke?

They very much adhere to the belief that their poorly researched opinions are eternal truths and so therefore to discuss them in public or to subject them to debate is "casting pearls before swine," as Jesus put it. You are the swine, just in case you didn't realize it.

Yesterday @nytimes.com published an op-ed from me on what this moment calls for. While it is tempting to believe that someone else is going to save us, history shows that it is only we, the people, who can change the course of our democracy. Thread below for resources on *how* to do just that. 🧵

I don’t agree with all Abdul El-Sayed’s views, but GOP “othering” is a disgrace. He was born in US, educated at Bloomfield Hills Andover, where he captained football team; Univ of Mich; Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar; Columbia, where he earned an MD. Debate his views, not whether he’s a “real” American.

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

Meanwhile, here’s how Ohio’s governor, a Republican, responded to today’s decision.
X post from Jonathan Martin: Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued the following statement on the Supreme Court of the United States' decision in Mullin v. Doe, regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS):

"Today, the United States Supreme Court issued its ruling allowing Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to be canceled or expire.

"Today’s decision is a legal decision.  As I have stated in the past, the policy to remove these individuals from this country is a mistake.

"As a result of today’s ruling, the over 10,000 Haitians who have been living in Ohio (mostly in the Springfield area) legally through TPS will now be here illegally and will be subject to immediate deportation. This also means that while these Haitians were working and contributing to our community and economy yesterday, today it is now illegal to employ them."The situation in Haiti could hardly be much worse.  The violent gangs run most of the country.  The government barely functions.  And, the economy is in shambles.
"Further, our federal government has an advisory against traveling to Haiti, and our Federal Aviation Administration prohibits U.S. carriers from flying there because of the danger to planes of being shot at by the gangs.

"But, more importantly, changing the immigration status of these individuals is not in the best interest of the United States nor Ohio."

The only way to get out from under all this shit is court reform. It’s literally more important than anything else right now because any laws or rights that the chucklefucks in Congress deign to give people of color or queer people can (and will) be undone by the Supreme Court.
