The UK government ceasing automatically to support almost anything the government of Israel does is a major shift. The next step should be to rescind the ban on #PalestineAction, to stop treating protesters as terrorists, and to acknowledge that those seeking to disrupt a genocide may have a point.

One thing I wish people would realize is just how central JK Rowling is to the entire anti-trans ecosystem. Looking at a network node analysis of the top 200 anti-trans X accounts, she is the most central figure spanning both sides of the Atlantic from Republicans to Labour.
A network graph visualization on a dark background showing connections between various accounts. The central, highly connected node is labeled "J.K. Rowling," with lines radiating out to many other nodes color-coded by region (UK, US, etc.). A detail panel on the right displays stats for her account, including her role as "Author & commentator," an in-degree of 153, an out-degree of 84, and 14 million followers.A scatter plot graph on a dark background comparing accounts based on "followers (log)" on the x-axis and "in-degree" on the y-axis. The data points are color-coded by region. J.K. Rowling is highlighted as a major outlier in the top right corner, possessing the highest number of followers and the highest in-degree. Other labeled points lower on the graph include various politicians, individuals, and campaign organizations.

What nation arrests and locks up the most 5 year olds in the world? 30,000 children under 10 since 2013? Clue #1: ~Half of the 5 year olds locked up are Black, because it's a super racist country. Clue #2: Other than Black parents, most of their own citizens don't care enough to oppose it.
Chart showing the minimum age for incarceration in each country. The chart only goes down to a youngest age of 7, which is a shame, because the United States can arrest kids way younger than that. I feel like the short-changing us.

Most of EU has a minimum of around 14. The US of course is 7.

Cofnas seems to think that "intelligent design" is a valid philosophical position and asserts the novel idea that "variation is produced randomly with respect to adaptation, and selection pressures are not forward looking" [clutching pearls in biologist] philpapers.org/rec/COFNSR
Screencap of Cofnas paper abstract which reads: According to the standard formulation, natural selection requires variation, differential fitness, and heritability. I argue that this formulation is inadequate because it fails to distinguish natural selection from artificial selection, intelligent design, forward-looking orthogenetic selection, and adaptation via the selection of nonrandom variation. I suggest adding a _no teleology_ condition. The no teleology condition says that the evolutionary process is not guided toward an endpoint represented in the mind of an agent, variation is produced randomly with respect to adaptation, and selection pressures are not forward looking.
