Actually, if you drop precision down to 4-bits, you could fit 100bn parameters in 50gb, which is totally viable in phones with 128gb or 256gb of space. The point is, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO. A large local size with highly inaccurate / imprecise maths is a worst of all worlds.

SILVERTONE 1375 - 1pu red-vinyl solidbody metal truss rod Danelectro Neptune NJ 1954. For sale. The day got away from me; too many items on the agenda. So here's the workbench from yesterday. cheers! www.vintagesilvertones.com/product/silv... #VintageGuitar #Guitar #Silvertone #Danelectro
Silvertone 1375 (early U1 series) made by Danelectro of Neptune New Jersey in 1954. It's a solidbody electric guitar with an aluminum bar that runs from the headstock through body. It has a red tolex covering on the body and a white headstock with red Lightning Bolt Silvertone logo on the headstock. It has one pickup, one volume, one tone control and a toggle switch to change the tone. The white plastic pickguard that has the electronics on it including the pickup has a few chips. (See photos). The pickup is strong and sounds great. The volume control works correctly. But, the tone control does not work. Also, it's a bit scratchy sounding. So some small electronics work will need to be done. That's reflected in the price. Otherwise it's very clean but does show some wear around the body edges, a cigarette burn on the headstock, and the paint is worn off on the neck from 70+ years of playing. Photos tell the story. It appears to be all original. No case or gig bag but it will be double-boxed for shipping.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The right wing crash out over asian students celebrating at a UT football game reveals that all along the true goal of reactionary colorblindness was never “meritocracy” but resegregation. (Gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...
Color-blind meritocracy was, for many years, a successful rhetorical strategy for undermining antidiscrimination law and excluding Black people from selective schools and prominent positions. That’s why so many former segregationists seemed to suddenly embrace the concept in the 1970s. For them, resegregation—not color-blindness—was always the goal. As long as the success of some immigrants could be used to paint Black students as undeserving, color-blind meritocracy was good. But now many on the right see a new problem: too many Asian Americans in elite spaces. Their success, therefore, must be portrayed as a sinister theft of real (white) Americans’ birthright.

The declining “social trust” that the administration warned against is, of course, not the fault of these students. The problem is bigots like Bo French who cannot accept into their community people who do not share their race and religion, and those who monetize or otherwise profit from that bigotry by spreading it through social media. Like the proverbial child who kills their parents and asks for mercy as an orphan, they are responsible for the problem they are decrying.

Not for the first time, I’d ask: what does it mean, if the press keep running campaigns claiming that country’s most horrific racists and bigots are the Green Party, the Labour left, Amnesty International, Stonewall, the police (I know) and Gary Lineker? Look around you. Does that feel right?
CAMILLA LONG
Jew-baiting Greens haven't peaked: they're just getting startedIt's strange having a fully fledged, fully funded racist party in our political line-up. It does not comfort me that in Holborn & St Pancras the Greens "only" got nearly 9,000 votes. If the British National Party, another party defined by a racist lie, had won that many votes in any constituency, there would be pandemonium. There would be riots. There wouldn't be amused, jocular analyses in all the main papers. Its leader wouldn't be ushered on to the Today programme as a senior statesman for a light dressing-down by Nick Robinson.
He wouldn't be allowed to repeat propaganda as Polanski did (he sounded as if he was reading lines from a piece of paper). He wouldn't be greeted with a comical, indulgent shrug.
And if I were a Jew in Holborn, or anywhere, watching this, what would I now be thinking? I would be thinking: I now know precisely how many of my fellow constituents want to kill me. Is anyone doing anything to protect me from them?
Just look at the recent hate crime statistics. Jews are now almost ten times more likely than Muslims to be the targets of a religious hate crime. So no one is stopping it. No one is even touching it. This is an unacceptable place for politics to have reached.

One under-discussed aspect of the vibecession is how interest rates for credit cards, autos, and mortgages all jumped in 2022 with the Fed hikes then never came back down. It's hardly a surprise consumers get bad vibes from that.
The share of families reporting being behind on loan payments jumped from 12% in 2022 to 20% in 2025. But the size of a family’s typical debt load remained unchanged from the prior survey. ### Alt-Text Summary (178 words)

> A multi-line chart titled *"10-Year Evolution of U.S. Consumer Borrowing Costs (2016–2026)"* illustrating benchmark interest rates from Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) across credit cards, new car loans, and 30-year fixed mortgages.
>
> Unsecured revolving credit cards consistently carry a ~15% premium over secured debt. Commercial bank credit card rates for accounts assessed interest climbed from 13.61% in late 2016 to 22.36% by late 2026, reaching a post-tightening peak of 23.37% in May 2024. All-account credit card rates follow in parallel, rising from 12.41% to 21.19%.
>
> Meanwhile, collateralized installment loans move in close alignment. Benchmark 30-year fixed mortgages fell to a historic low of 2.65% during the January 2021 pandemic easing before surging to 7.40% by October 2026 (peaking at 7.79% in late 2023). Commercial bank 60-month new auto loans similarly rose from 4.05% in 2016 to 7.54% in 2026 (peaking at 8.40%).
>
> Two shaded vertical bands highlight key macroeconomic events: the 2020 COVID-19 recession and the 2022–2023 Federal Reserve rate-hiking cycle (+525 bps), which triggered the steep upward trajectory across all consumer borrowing costs.

Happy weekend! Here’s a 3,500 year-old Minoan clay flask decorated with a wide-eyed octopus! 🐙❤️ From Palaikastro, Crete. Heraklion Archaeological Museum 📷 by me #Archaeology
My photo shows a frontal view of a clay flask with warm-yellow coloured slip with black hand painted decoration depicting an octopus. The octopus is swimming diagonally with eight writhing, sucker-lined arms covering the surface of the flask. It stares out at the viewer with wide, almost cartoon-like eyes. Additional black painted motifs include sea urchins, tritons, small rocks and seaweed. Minoan decoration depicting sea motifs is known by scholars as the 'Marine Style'. The flask measures 27 cm (about 10.5 inches) in height. It has a short spout at the top with a small loop handle at either side and a small base so that it can stand upright.

“Its shape is somewhat unusual, constructed by slipping together, while still leather hard (clay that is not quite dry), two shallow plates which had been made on a fast spinning potter’s wheel and with highly refined clay. The circular bases of these shallow plates are still visible in the center of both sides of the flask” (Smart History article “Octopus Vase” by Dr Senta German https://smarthistory.org/octopus-vase/)

The flask was excavated in 1903 at a Bronze Age settlement site at Palaikastro. The excavations between 1902 and 1906, were run by R. Bosanquet and R.M. Dawkins from the British School of Athens. The flask is part of the collections at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Heraklion, Crete.
