Interesting feature on Energy-Charts: what could the increased use of batteries on the German wholesale market achieve: flattening peak prices, raising (mainly solar) capture prices (cc @energy-charts.bsky.social)
The figure shows the day-ahead price in Germany in week 30, and a simulated price based on greater use of batteries. It also shows generation from solar, onshore wind and offshore wind.

Imagine if the solution for the crisis du jour would be simple technology such as e-bikes and heat pumps. It’s convenient to push a button and get 21°C to this small flat I rented, on a cold morning. Such gear does not require oil and gas import dependency from hostile regimes. #Sufficiency
