I now have 3 to 5 cases a day where I need an answer to a question and normally it would require a lot of manually deep diving into complex stuff, mechanical boring cognitive work, which Claude solves in minutes and autonomously. - Can't log into git - Question on 2y old code - My Wifi is slow

2020: cold emails with applications mentioning unrelated areas like Biology. Candidate didn't even check my/our webpage. 2026: cold emails which relate the candidate's CV with our work and latest papers. 100% LLM written, generic LLM language. Same effect, same probability of getting a reply.

We had X NeurIPS 2026 submissions and Y of them passed, X-Y were rejected. The actual counts are irrelevant, as every Y was appreciated and each and every X-Y hurt. These were the last ones where coding was done 100% by humans 💪. Also writing btw, but we continue to do all our writing ourselves.

We went from "Humans code" to "LLMs code but humans need to verify the code" to "LLMs code but its unclear whether humans are required to verify, up for discussion" and now I am hearing "In the future why should humans even pretend they could be smart enough to verify what AI will code".

Nihar Shah did a heroic experiment for TMLR: he spent 20-25 hours over two weeks interviewing authors of seemingly low-quality submissions about their own papers. He confirmed what we all suspected: people submitting these papers have *no idea* what is going on in them.

One more reason to work on real robotics with real robots: your papers including experiments taken humans days and weeks will stand out compared to the floods of papers which took Claude or Codex a couple of seconds to generate. If somebody finds them, that is. (Graph taken from the quoted thread)
