I think about this Bloom County / Outland cartoon every time I go to YouTube to listen to a song, and discover that there's a music video for it that I've never seen before, and have to decide whether or not to watch it.

Big thanks to @thatlukeperson.bsky.social for introducing the concept of "nisses" via Hilda, so that when something is lost for a few days, and then suddenly reappears in the middle of an empty table my family can say "oop! I guess the nisses are done with it!" instead of "reality is a glitchy lie".

Mayor May Knott is next, and this thing is charming. A puzzle game about girl rebuilding a town and overcoming her fears &shyness. It's very pretty, punny, and so full of heart I almost couldn't drag myself away from the demo. There's also a fortune teller called Madame Pastrami. She's a sandwich.

When the Nintendo DS came out, Kotaku made fun of it for having a health and safety screen that you had to agree to every time, and joked about how dumb it would be if cars and other things had that. I think about that every time I start my car and the mandatory health and safety screen appears.
