The game mixes things up with three weapons, the purple Pulser, shooting one powerful shot at a time, the Fanfire, shooting a barrage of red photon shots in a horizontal line, and the Ioniser, a blue electric beam with a long reach, used right now as Paris flies over a frozen landscape with spiky rocks and green glowing crystals, with two squads of sort-of-Tie-Fighter enemies with evil grinning faces on their hull.

Paris shooting down one of the floating mines hovering over a fiery volcano area, increasing the heat in an already toasty situation.

Flying over some rocky cliffs and grassy hills, just past an ancient building with a tall lighthouse, shooting out a green beam of light.

Only a few plants here but I just wanted to show a little more of this game. The music choices in this are wild. I also love the little crunchy/compressed voice lines for some characters, as well as the look of the UI, which I show about halfway in. The death animation for the rat is so violent!

An intriguing Japan exclusive, Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer on PlayStation 2 in 2001 does have a local PC version. The action-ish RPG was a better fit for consoles in Japan, which is before its time tbh. Oblivion is still ages away from streamlining the genre #gaming #retro #PS2 🎮
