Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.

Data check: humanity has destroyed ~1/3 of 🌎 forests, mostly for agricultural expansion to feed more people. To feed 9-10B people by 2050 while ending deforestation, 🌎 needs to sustainably increase productivity, minimize food waste, shift high-meat diets toward plants, and stop biofuel expansion.

I want people to understand that what’s happening in Nepal is set to literally eclipse the loss of life of Katrina and 9/11 combined if the numbers reported missing are verified deceased. Right now 12,000 are reported missing on the government app. Over 3,000 verified missing so far.

It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo called Houston home for 35 years. On Tuesday, an ICE agent shot and killed him. His family learned of his death from a video before anyone bothered to knock on their door.

I may never stop feeling bitter about this. We tried to speak out in 2018 and it led to months of harassment from DSA members, even national. They tried to expel us after pointing out this abuser’s work with his abusive friends. People even showed up at our jobs. Talked shit to our coworkers.

On July 7, an ICE agent fatally shot Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. It was at least the 26th time that immigration agents shot at someone since Trump’s operations began last year, and numbers among at least 72 gun-related incidents connected to Trump’s domestic immigration deployments.
